普巴杵

The phurbu, called a vajrakila in Sanskrit, served to "impale", or rather subjugate, demons. The blade is three edged and protrudes from the mouth of a makara, above which is the han-dle, decorated with lotus leaves, followed by the very expressive, grimly formed heads of three protective deities, dharmapalas, all gilded. In their crowns are skulls. while their shared head of hair has a snake wrapped around it. A vajra caps off the piece. Good, complete con-dition; patina.
