Description
A federal sideboard having a serpentine front, the doors to the side being concave. A long rounding drawer extends across the center and projects beyond the cupboard below it. The drawers and legs are inlaid with contrasting veneer depicting fans, scrolls, and 13 stripes representing the 13 colonies. Accompanying this sideboard is an article written in the early 1900 s which spells out it s exceptional history and importance, having first been purchased at auction in 1837 from the Hoppin family estate. More documentation states that it belonged to a militia man in Connecticut after the war. Likely late 18th C. 69"x26"x41.5"
