Signed low left with a STAMP PREVOST at the back.Size: 45 inches (h) x 35 inches (w) FRAMED. 32 inches (h) x 23 inches (w) CANVASA French nineteenth century painter, watercolourist and etcher, Alexandre Celeste Gabriel Prevost studied art in Paris, under Lasalle and Jeanron. He began exhibiting his art at the Paris Salon in 1850 and became a member of the Societaire des Artistes Francais in 1886.During his career, Alexandre Prevost produced both etchings and paintings in the genres of still life, portraiture and figure scenes. Today his art is included in such collections as the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris, and the National Gallery of Canada.ATTENTION: The auction is in USD (US Dollars).
