Liao or Yuan Dynasty Chinese Jun type rounded blue-green glazed summer tea bowl. Rounded sides rising to a straight rim, raised upon slightly concaved narrow foot base. The bowl covered overall in turquoise-blue glaze falling short of the foot, revealed the olive-brown shades around the rim. A splash of purplish-blue accent characterized the interior rim. The underbase glaze stopped before the foot base, displayed the pale-creme ground with burnt orange and darker spots in the firing.

Glen Cove New York is on the North Shore of Long Island and was the summer resort of the rich and famous. In the early 1900s Property was owned by F.W. Woolworth, J.P Morgan, John Platt and John D. Rockefeller. Many of the estates have been sold and are now operated as resorts. The Mansions of Glen Cove The Webb Institute was used as educational facilities and even the Soviet Union has purchased property for retreats for visiting dignitaries.
The Collections of Mr. John Platts presented and offered up to auctions from Lot-172 through Lot-182, and continued from Lot-184 Through Lot-209.
