Description
Third-Reich Eisenbahn Standart. Blue silk body with gray silk with darker gray/silver bullion embroidered highlights on a massive winged wheel (embroidered – "Founded 23.6.1901"). Each corner has a 16" x 14" panel outlined in silver bullion "tape". Panels include relief embroidered coats-of-arms of the provinces which supplied membership to this particular Eisenbahn organization. Included are: Westfallen (rearing stallion), Hess (a crowned red/silver/white lion), Rhineland (a Fleur de Lis) and Warburg (a black embroidered 8-pointed star on a yellow-gold silk panel). Reverse bears a massive gray silk eagle with feathering highlighted by relief darker gray silk embroidery. Black silk embroidered swastika on white field within a red wreath having relief embroidered silver bullion oak leaves. High relief embroidered 6" silver lettering "Eisenbahn Verein" and "Warburg i.w.", all on a blue silk background. Silver bullion fringe on three sides. Seven blue silk with silver bullion tape pole "sleeves". Base of standard embroidered with name of master seamstress and "Warburg 1 Juli 1934". 49" x 50". A striking display item.
