Betty Tafoya Santa Clara Blackware Pottery Bowl, Handmade pottery of natural clay indigenous to the area and in the hand coil technique. Decorated with deep carvings into the pottery with traditional symbols and having a fine lip. The Artist has a purple ribbon from the New Mexico State Fair in Albuquerque in 1968 which mentions "First Premium" in her class (included). Artist signed on bottom "Betty Tafoya, Santa Clara Pueblo. Appraised at $2,500 from Chief Dodge Native American Jewelry and Fine Arts, Scottsdale, AZ. 8.5" in diameter and 4.5" tall
