South America, Spanish Colonial era, coins salvaged by divers from the Rimac River, Lima, Peru, ca. 1651 to 1773 CE. A group of five silver Spanish coins: one 2 real, two reales, and two half reales, all minted in Potosi between the years listed above. These coins were part of a large hoard salvaged from the river bottom. They have been mounted in modern sterling silver loops to form pendants, on a modern chain with silver and 18 karat gold links. Length of chain: 19" L (48.3 cm); size of largest pendant: 0.9" W (2.3 cm); 48.9 grams
