Description
1) RAILWAY. This post WWII dagger has an overall length of 15 3/4". Blade marked "ORIGINAL (squirrel) Eickhorn SOLINGEN". Silver plated crossguard w/ winged train wheel & plated pommel w/ mobile swastika. Grip is black composite material w/ a correct style railroad knot attached. Scabbard is silver plated. Complete w/ railroad hangers featuring silver bullion on a black field. CONDITION: blade has areas of discoloration coupled w/ factory polish. Hilt, grip & scabbard show light wear to the plating & expected tarnish. Knot shows no wear. Hangers show oxidation to the metal fittings but only slight wear to the hanging straps. (02-4877/BF). 2) WATER POLICE. This post WWII dagger has an overall length of 16". Blade marked "(puma head) PUMA SOLINGEN". Blade is etched over 2/3 of its length w/ various naval & foliate motifs. Gilded brass crossguard features a central anchor on each side & a push button release. Gilded brass pommel & police insignia attached to the wire wrapped leather grip. Scabbard is engraved gilded brass w/ 2 suspension bands & rings. CONDITION: blade has scattered areas of discoloration but does show some original factory polish. Hilt & scabbard show light wear. Only traces of this post WWII dagger's gilded finish remain. (02-4962/BF). 3) NAVAL. A fine early example of a WWI era Imperial Naval officer's dagger. Overall length 19 1/4". Blade marked w/ a knight's head for the WKC Company. Blade has a cleaned light gray finish w/ light etching over 2/3 of its length. Gilded brass crossguard has a central anchor motif w/ a push button release. Pommel is in the shape of a crown. White celluloid grip. Gilded brass scabbard has the usual engraved lightning bolt motifs & also has the name "Bucher" engraved on the reverse of the throat. Red buffer pad intact. CONDITION: blade has a cleaned light gray finish. Mounts & scabbard retain about 60% of their gilded finish. Grip has a few very minor chips. There are a few shallow dents to the scabbard concentrated near the tip. (02-7120-A/BS/BF). $1,000-1,500 for lot.
