Description
OF WEBLEY MARK I 455 CARTRIDGES. 1) Black Luger military pattern holster. Marked on back "GENSCHOW & Co. A.G. BERLIN" w/ dropped winged eagle "WaA 387" & dated 1936. Also has hand scratched inscription on back "2694 DA SMITH". Has pocket for spare magazine & holder for takedown tool. CONDITION: holster has scuffing, flexing & wear, spots of loose stitching. Copper rivets on belt loops field replacements. Combination tool pocket has missing flap & torn stitching. 2) Black clamshell pattern Luger holster. Marked on back "FR. OFFERMANN BENSBERG" & dated 1939 w/ faint "WaA 127". CONDITION: holster has good tight stitching w/ scuffed appearance having wear, scratches & staining. Belt loops have been fitted w/ snaps at top, possibly by G.I. 3) British russet leather bolster for Webley .455 revolvers. Also fits .476 Enfield. Marked on back w/ "FLANNIGANS LIMITED LTD. 1916". Flap has faint broad arrow on inside. Also marked in faint red ink inside flap "Lieut. O.P. McKenzie" above faint additional marking, possibly "N.Z.E.F." (New Zealand Expeditionary Force). CONDITION: leather has scuffing, moderate wear, scratches & flexing but has tight stitching. Belt loop on back has been restitched. 4) Canvas holster for Webley revolvers. RAF blue. Marked inside w/ "M.E. Ca 1951" w/ broad arrow plus broad arrow & "104" plus "23/175". Has C type belt hooks. Domed brass snap closure. CONDITION: holster has light wear, scuffing & staining but very good tight stitching. 5) Also includes 2 factory paper packets containing 7 cartridges each for Webley self loading pistol Mark I. Marked "CARTRIDGES S.A. BALL PISTOL SELF LOADING", ".455 INCH" plus "30/19 E MARK I" as well as "NOT FOR REVOLVERS". CONDITION: packets have factory string closures & appear in very good condition. One has sm. tear on rear. Markings are legible. (02-11395/RW). $400-600 for lot.
