dating: early 20th Century provenance: Rajasthan, The sword with single-and false-edged bade, tang and back with reinforcement, gilding and piercing; base decorated on one side with gold tigers and names of the Durga goddess reincarnations in Devanagari alphabet; then nine oval medallions with finest engravings depicting the goddess in her nine incarnations (Nava-Durga, nava=9) with different animals such as tiger, an elephant, a lion, a buffalo and some birds, other decorations portray the defeated enemies, all framed by gilded rinceaux and garlands, tip decorated with a hunting scene. Opposite side decorated en suite (depictions with variations). Big, tulvar-type, iron grip decorated with floral motifs in gold koftgari. length 99 cm.
