Description
Overall length: 16 1/2". Blade is marked "E.u.F. HORSTER (logo) SOLINGEN". Blade is engraved w/ naval & foliate motifs. Gilded brass crossguard & pommel. Wire wrapped composite grip. Gilded brass scabbard w/ lightning bolt motif. This dagger was brought home after WWII by General Clarence Huebner who commanded the 1st Infantry Division of the Army during the D-day invasion. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: a statement of provenance signed by a descendent of Huebner. CONDITION: blade shows significant original factory polish. Gilding on hilt is approx. 85%. Grip has several cracks encompassing the entire grip. Wire is complete. Scabbard is undamaged but retains only 20% of original gilding. (02-12359/BF). $1,900-2,400.
