Description
Interesting group includes some scarce & desirable US military bayonets & knives. 1) Rare Remington Arms made bayonet & scabbard for Lee Navy straight pull rifle. 8 1/8" Fullered single edge blade. Reverse fuller marked "REMINGTON ARMS Co. ILION, N.Y.". Smooth walnut grip panels. Bird's head pommel numbered "15120". Has leather scabbard having blued steel throat & tip plus stitched leather belt loop frog. CONDITION: bright blade turning gray w/ patina, oxidation & scattered fine pitting. Blade tip has slight damage to tip approx. 1/16". Handle has notably more patina. Grip panels have light wear, denting & staining. Scabbard & frog has wear, scuffing & flexing, but stitching is complete & tight. Metal shows traces of blue turning patina w/ light oxidation & fine pitting. 2) 18 1/8" Triangular socket bayonet for Springfield trap door rifle. Blade is marked "IC / US". Marked on left side of socket "10". Includes steel scabbard w/ leather frog. Brass "US" button. CONDITION: bayonet was bright turning gray & patina w/ wear, light oxidation & scattered fine pitting. Scabbard retains 60% black finish w/ thinning, wear & scratches. Worn leather has scuffing, flexing & staining, but stitching appears good. 3) 11 5/8" Fullered single edged blade US Krag bayonet. Marked on right ricasso "US" & left ricasso "1902". Marked at top rear of crossguard "NJ". Steel scabbard w/ hinged metal belt loop. Walnut grip panels. CONDITION: bright metal parts turning gray & patina w/ wear & fine pitting. Scabbard has notable dented appearance & turned overall gray & patina. Grip panels have extensive wear & remnants of scratched initials. 4) 11 9/16" Fullered single edge blade US Krag bayonet. Right ricasso marked "US" & left marked "1895". Smooth walnut grip panels. Steel scabbard w/ metal belt loop. CONDITION: bright metal parts of bayonet turning gray & patina w/ light oxidation & scattered pitting. Grip panels have wear & pitting. Nearly full length crack on left grip panel. Scabbard has black Japan type finish w/ wear & scratches. 5) 11 7/16" Fullered single edge blade US Krag bayonet. Marked on ricasso "US" & "1898". Walnut grip panels. Steel scabbard w/ belt hook. CONDITION: bright metal have turned overall gray & patina. Blade has been extensively sharpened & ground. Grip panels have moderate wear & staining. Steel scabbard has denting, extensive oxidation & pitting. 6) 11 1/2" Fullered single edged blade US Krag bayonet. Ricassos marked "US" & "1899". Walnut grip panels. Steel scabbard & belt loop. CONDITION: bayonet has been sharpened. Metal turning gray & patina w/ wear. grip panels have moderate wear & staining. Scabbard has denting turning patina w/ wear & scratches. 7) 15 15/16" Fullered single edge blade Springfield Model 1903 bayonet. Left ricasso marked "SA flaming bomb 1907", right ricasso marked "US" & S#. Walnut grip panels have coarse turned appearance retained by single screw. Has leather scabbard w/ steel throat & belt loop. Scabbard is marked on back "R.I.A. 1907 J.E.M.". CONDITION: bright blade turning gray & patina. Hilt & ricasso retain traces of blue turning patina. Grips are worn w/ staining & scratches. Leather scabbard has wear & scuffing w/ cuts & bruises. Metal parts turning overall patina w/ wear & scratches. 8) 15 7/8" Fullered single edged blade Springfield Model 1903 bayonet. Left ricasso marked "SA flaming bomb 1918", right ricasso marked "US" & S#. Coarse turned walnut grips retained by single screw. WWII Issued plastic scabbard marked w/ "US" & flaming bomb. CONDITION: bayonet blade & hilt have traces of blue turning gray & patina w/ wear & light oxidation. Blade has been sharpened. Plastic scabbard has worn appearance, but appears to be serviceable. 9) 16 7/8" Fullered single edged blade US Model 1913/17 bayonet. Left ricasso marked "1917" & encircled "W" indicating Win. mfg. Right ricasso has flaming bomb & "US" w/ 2 "X". Walnut grip panels have 2 grooves. Pommel has oil cleaning holes. Green leather scabbard w/ steel tip & throat. CONDITION: Bayonet blade retains traces of blue turning gray & patina. Blade has been sharpened. Grip panels have light wear, denting & scattered tiny cracks. Leather scabbard has wear & staining. Metal tips turning overall patina. 10-12) 3 M5A1 bayonets for M1 Garand w/ 6 5/8" blades. Bayonet marked on front of crossguard "U.S. M5A1 MILPAR COL.".Metal has parkerized finish w/ checkered plastic grips. Web & plastic scabbards marked "USM8A1". CONDITION: bayonets in very good overall condition w/ light wear, scratches & thinning finish. Blades have been lightly sharpened. Scabbards have light wear, staining & scratches; 1 has notable loss of finish around throat & heavy staining of webbing. 13-14) 2 USM4 bayonets for M1 Carbine w/ 6 1/2" & 6 5/8" blades. Green web & plastic M8A1 scabbards. Bayonets have black checkered plastic grips & twin catches on pommel. CONDITION: bayonet w/ shorter blade has been extensively sharpened & reparkerized. Both bayonets have light wear & scratches. Scabbards have light wear & staining. 15-17) 3 M6 bayonets for M14 rifle. Blades range between 6 5/8" to 6 3/4". Marked on front of crossguard "US M6"; 2 marked "MILPAR COL." & 1 marked "IMPERIAL". Green plastic & web scabbards. CONDITION: metal has light wear, thinning & scratches. Bayonets have been lightly sharpened. 2 Scabbards in good condition w/ light wear & staining. 1 Scabbard has notable heavy wear, staining & loss of finish. 18-21) 4 M7 bayonets for M16 rifes. Blades range form 6 1/2" to 6 7/8". Markers are "BOC", "GEN CUT", & "CONETTA". M8A1 Plastic & web scabbards. 1 Bayonet & scabbard marked w/ "26" rack #. CONDITION: bayonet's have evidence of sharpening, light wear & thinning finishes. Scabbards have light wear & staining. 22) 11 1/4" Blade USMC Medical Corpsman knife. Knife is unmarked. Walnut handles held by 4 rivets. Leather scabbard w/ copper colored throat. Marked on back "USMC BOYT 43". CONDITION: bright blade has staining, light oxidation & fine pitting. handles have light wear & staining. Scabbard has scuffing & staining, but tight stitching. 23) 9 5/8" Special Forces type Bowie Knife featured on pg. 168 of US Military Knifes Vol. 3 by Cole. Crossguard marked "WESTERN USA" & "W49". Knife has brass crossguard & rosewood grip panels secured by 3 rivets. Knife does not have Special Forces emblem etched on side of blade. Leather sheath w/ D ring & leather belt loop. CONDITION : knife has light staining & oxidation. Brass crossguard has patina appearance. Grips & sheath have light wear & staining. Sheath stitching is tight. 24) 5" single edge sawback stainless steel Vietnam Era US Divers Vulcan Model knife w/ steel knuckle guard. Rnd. grooved plastic handle. Black plastic & web scabbard. CONIDITON: knife has been sharpened w/ light wear & scratches. Handle is slightly loose. Scabbard in very good condition. 25-27) 3 U.S.N MARK 1 knives. All marked on right ricasso "RH 35" & "PAL" in oval. Aluminum butts. Leather washer handles. 5 1/4" Single edged blades. Blades have been parkerized; balance of metal has dark oxidized appearance. 2 have USN MK1 plastic & web scabbards. 1 Has unmarked Russet leather sheath. CONDITION: parkerized blades have wear & thinning w/ lightly sharpened appearance. Leather washer handles have wear & sm. cracks. 1 Plastic scabbard has been repaired w/ water proof tape. Other 2 scabbards have light wear & staining. 28) 5 1/8" Sawback fullered single edge blade Pilot's survival knife. Knife has straight crossguard, grooved leather washer handle & hexagonal pommel marked "ONTARIO N.Y. 1-1969". Russet leather sheath w/ sharpening stone, metal tip & back. Sheath marked on back "ONTARIO KNIFE COMPANY" & "5/89". CONDITION: parkerized metal of knife has light wear thinning & scratches. Leather washer handle in good appearance w/ lightly scuffed appearance. Sheath has very light wear & staining w/ tight stitching. 29-32) 4 US Navy MK 2 knives w/ fullered single edge blades. Blade lengths run from 6 3/4" to 7". Have grooved leather washer handles. Circular steel pommels. 2 marked "KA-BAR", 1 marked "CAMILLUS", & 1 marked "ONTARIO". 3 Have plastic & web MK 2 scabbards. 1 Has black leather sheath w/ military stock # on back. CONDITION: knives have light sharpening, thinning, wear & scratches. Leather handles have wear & staining. 2 Scabbards have moderate wear & staining. 1 Scabbard repaired w/ waterproof tape. Black leather sheath has loose stitching at throat, but is otherwise serviceable. 33) 18" Blade machete marked on left ricasso w/ "U.S.M.C. MARK 2 1944 SWI". Black plastic handle w/ lanyard hole & finger rest. Green web scabbard w/ metal reinforced throat. Scabbard has faint markings include "US" & "1945". CONDITION: machete has very lg. degree of original blue finish & very nice condition. Edge has been very lightly sharpened. 34) SPANISH CETME 1969 bayonet. 8 3/4" Fullered blade marked on left ricasso w/ Spanish crest. Checkered black plastic grips. Green plastic & web scabbard.
