Description
"This is a very fine Authentic Antique Flemish Tapestry in Wool & Silk hunting, Depicting a lady and attendant with falcons in an extensive park like setting and with a floral border. This exquisite piece exhibits amazing workmanship. Flemish Tapestries of this era are difficult to find in such wonderful condition!"- It is very much a mid 19th century romanticized image of the late Renaissance or early Baroque. In France that is known as Henry IV-style, which was popular with the bourgeoisie, coming into their own during the second half of that century. The work might well be French, perhaps even from a famous manufacturer like Aubusson, but could have been made in a number of countries, like Belgium, as well.
