This lot consists of an ink drawing on what appears to be canvas paper, attributed to the contemporary street artist Keith Haring (American, 1958-1990). "K. Haring" hand written in ink at bottom left. Image depicts four human figures riding on shoulders. The group of shoulder-riders appear to be moving away from a figure emerging from the left. Two individuals have "x"'s on their chests. There's a number of "radiating" marks placed throughout the visual space. A busy, dynamic piece that surges with the inimitable energy of Haring. Framed piece measures approximately 21.5" x 17.5, image sight measures approximately 15.75" x 11.5".

The ink stamps en verso read "SHEZDIN GALLERY" along with a New York address. Also hand written en verso are several illegible words and numbers.

Haring began to experiment with graffiti, painting first on subway walls. He became known for his complex, pandemonic, jigsaw -puzzle like paintings, intended to be iconography of American life. Usually he would begin by making the border around the work and then would go inside the space. He said "the whole painting is the cartoon of a cartoon."

Piece is in overall good condition. Ink has faded throughout the drawing. Some scuffs and marks but overall image and signature are crisp, clear, vibrant and show very well.
