The Magini edition of Ptolemy's Geography, with the addition of 37 "modern" maps. This copy does not have the inserted folding reduction of Rumold Mercator's world map, which is lacking from most copies. The first 27 maps are traditional Ptolemaic maps, followed by the modern maps reflective of the recent cartographic discoveries and refinements. Among these are three world maps (including the Mercator); a map of North and South America; Tartary (which shows part of North America and the "Stretta di Anian"); Palestine; the Turkish Empire with "Arabia Felix"; East Indies including India, China, and Japan (with a bit of America in the upper right); continent maps of Asia, Africa and Europe; the various nations, states, and provinces of Europe, etc. The title page of the second part is dated 1620.
