Item Details
Description
**Originally Listed At $150**

New World, Mexico, ca. 19th century CE. A wood tile depicting a low relief motif of two dancers standing atop horses. The horses in particular are well-depicted, as if the artist was more interested in the animals than the dancers! There seems to be some paint in the lower profile areas, indicating that this may have been used as a stamp. Size: 4.2" W x 4.3" H (10.7 cm x 10.9 cm)

Provenance: private collection of Lupita Tovar, silent screen actress of the 1930s, Bel-Air, California, USA
