Chinese Qing Dynasty, Pair of Wucai Dragon brush pen handles. Thick porcelain, globular body with concave flat base to input pen, straight neck, with bulbous domed lid. Brush handle decorated with vivid hues of blue, red, and green. Wucai or five-color shades and tones, brightly painted in Wucai design, Opaque colors around the exterior, between the filling motif decorated in colorful motif. Enamel has an opaque quality, with a variegated mixture patterns covering the smooth surface. The left side adorned with snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-Shui waves in a vivid tones color dragon squama rounded the bowl to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames. The right side decorated with detail of five claws imperial dragon soaring amidst tendril and foliage, with face and upper right appendage outstretched toward the heavens. The backdrop depicts scrolling tendril and flowers blooms painted atop a beautiful lemon yellow underglaze. enclosed with blue interlocking swastika pattern on the domed lid, lower body and foot base rim. Elegantly presented upon a carved hardwood stand and fitted original hardwood box, with a padded lining of Imperial purple silk woven. There is not any overlap of the outlines, its well carved, clear, subtle, and distinct. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.
Mark around the handle, a six underglaze red script characters reign mark, Qianlong Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
