Condition
One of the most important designs of the GDR in the postwar years, designed by designer and draughtsman Erich Menzel. The first chipless bent plywood chair. "(... ) It was made of 29 layers of resin-drenched plywood, that are being moulded with the aid of a steam-heated forging die that exerts a hydaulic pressure of 60 kg/cm2 and bends 140 grades in 25 minutes (...)" (Vom Sofakissen zum Staedtebau, p. 117). The chair has no screws or any other pieces of metal.
