Julian Falat (1853 - 1929). Watercolor on Paper. Measure 8 1/2"in H x 13 1/4"in W and 14 1/2"in H x 11"in W . Julian Falat studied at the Fine Art Academy in Cracow, then went to Munich for further studies. After traveling all over Europe, he took a journey around the world. Invited by the German Emperor - Wilhelm II, he moved to Berlin (1886), to become a member of the German Fine Art Academy in 1893. After his return to Poland, Julian Falat supervised Cracow's Fine Art Academy activities and transformed it into a modern academy as its director in 1895.
In 1910 left Warsaw to settle in the mountains in the village of Bystra. Falat became famous for his excellent watercolors as well as oils focusing mainly on typical Polish winter landscapes.
