Description
Builder's half model of a steam yacht, designed by Archibald Mann, American circa 1890. The model is constructed of 10 pine lifts with a long, tapered stern and applied rudder and propeller. Mounted on it's original backboard. There is an old obituary notice applied to the back of the backboard which states "Died. Archibald Mann, 90, Dean U.S. Naval Architects who designed ocean-going yachts ranging from JP Morgan's Corsair to Hary Trunam's Williamsburg and the Bath, Maine Ironworks turned out 25% U.S. Navy's World War II destroyers in Bath.
