A splendid example of medieval printing, being a quire of six leaves from a fragment of a Biblia Latina.
Printed in Basel on December 1, 1498 by J. Froben and J.Petry

The bible text is surrounded by the explanatory text of Nicholas de Lyra and other commentators.
The literal meaning of the Latin word incunabulum is "infants cradle" and alludes to the fact that printing at that time was in its infancy.
Condition
Condition of the Quire: As shown, in good condition. It is on hand-made paper. There is evidence of ageing: light soiling, edge and margin flaws, etc.
Size of each leaf: ca. 11.5"x 8.25"(290mm x 210 mm).
Pictured: The entire quire in its proper sequence and the colophon page giving the date of printing.
