Description
Irv Noren played professionally for 11 seasons with six different ball clubs, with his longest stint being with the New York Yankees. Although he was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1946, he didn't play for them until his final season in 1960. After retiring, he managed and coached teams until 1975. Carl Hubbell played for the New York Giants for his entire career and remained on the payroll until his death. He had a career/league high in record in 1936-37 of 24 wins and was a pitcher in the 1934 All Star game. During that game, he struck out Babe Ruth, Jimmie Foxx, Joe Cronin, Lou Gehrig and Al Simmons, all future Hall of Famers. These balls have been kept in a protective plastic case, with Hubbell's ball mounted to a wooden stand with a name plate.
