In 1946, he traveled to France to further his studies at l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.In 1968, he moved to New York and devoted himself to creation. A work of his of the 1970s was selected by Lincoln Center to make a serigraph to celebrate the bicentenary of America.Mixed media, acrylic and ink are used in his works. Through the concept to modern painting, Mr.Yu blended the find art's tradition of Chinese and Western.
