BIOGRAPHY:
Born to French parents, a pupil of Charles Albert Waltner and Francois Flameng, he exhibited in 1912 at the Salon des artistes francais and obtained an honorable mention in 1913, a bronze medal in 1921 and a travel scholarship. He also took part in the 1928 and 1929 Salon des independants des nus et des paysages.He took part in World War I in aviation (1916) and was a member of Squadron 155.Second second Grand Prix de Rome of Engraving in 1920, we owe him also fifteen engravings and sometimes also the drawing of French stamps, and thirty for Monaco.He settled in the Paris region where he married the daughter of the painter Paul Lecomte (1842-1920) and sister of the painter Paul-Emile Lecomte (1877-1950).Georges Degorce died on 11 December 1943 in Moret-sur-Loing.
