Hopi covered bowl by Marianne Navasie Jim (b. 1951) of the Tewa, Kachina Clan, two piece low covered pot with raised corn decoration to shoulder and painted decoration to figural knob finial, signed to base with Frog and Tadpole symbols, some loss/ flaking to underside and surface finish, 5" diam. [PROVENANCE: Purchased in September of 1992 from Americana Indian Shows, Flagstaff, Arizona, for $385. Copy of receipt available to successful buyer.] [Note: Active 1970-present, Marianne Navasie Jim is granddaughter of Paqua Naha/1st Frog women; daughter of Joy Navasie/2nd Frog Woman, wife of Harrison Jim. Featured in Dillingam 1994:60-61, and Hayes and Blom 1996:72-75.]
