Description
Depicting a man on horse with his servant beside, a building in the background, surrounded by a fence, precious objects on a table on the left and in the air, the border with alternating precious objects and floral cartouches, three flower sprays on the reverse with an underglaze blue fang ding mark. The scene depicting the arrival of Zhang and his servant at the monastery in the story of Romance of the Western Chamber, referring to Page 90, in book FAMILLE VERTE CHINESE PORCELAIN IN GREEN ENAMELS by Christiaan J.A. Jorg. Condition: minor chips to edges for both plates, a very tight 9 cm star hairline for one on the base, a 4 cm faint hairline extending from the edge for the other, otherwise in very good condition.
