Description
Second half -19th century, watercolor on paper, unsigned. "McMeens's Surgeon's Call at Camp Taylor, Huntsville, Ala." Depicts Dr. Robert McMeens (Sandusky, Ohio, 1820-1862) of the 3rd Ohio Volunteers treating the wounded. McMeens died during the Civil War and was inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame in 2006. Professionally cleaned and repaired. Gilt frame, 11"h. 14.25"w.
Condition
03-18-21 Rebacked on rice paper. Two horizontal tears on either side extending towards middle. Longest is 5 inches long. Multiple small surface scuffs and holes visible when held to light. Bottom has loss at left corner.
