Lot of 2 African Wooden Primitive Tribal Masks Kifwebe & Painted Tongue. 1). The first appears to be a male Kifwebe Mask. Songye People D. R. Congo. defined by the rows of grooves on the mask. The mask is predominately white but has retained the color of the wood it is carved from. The male masks have a defined comb which extends over the head into the nose. These masks were often worn during initiations, funeral rites and public performances. The mask measures H 12" x W 5.5" x D 6.5". (2) Primitive style African Mask on a stand with wooden beads for eyes, large nose and sewn on tongue. It shows some age and or wear of the paint and wood. It measures H 16" tall on stand by W 10". The combined weight is 2.5 lbs. Please refer to all photos. Overall in good condition.
