Title: Great 1860s map of the Maritime Provinces by Mitchell

Description: This beautiful and detailed historical map depicts the Maritime Provinces (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward’s Island) with counties named and hand-color coded in contrasting colors. Major cities, towns, rivers and lakes are clearly identified. The eastern portion of “Canada East” is also shown (Canada East was a name used 1841 to 1867 denoting the Quebec province). An inset at lower right depicts the “CITY AND HARBOR OF HALIFAX.” A very interesting and attractive view of the region in the mid-19th century. A beautiful example with no major faults. 10.5 x 13.25
