A US M1840 cavalry saber with scabbard known as the "Wristbreaker" for its heavy blade. Worn marking on ricasso with only legible letters reading "-ing/-n". 35.5" bright blade in overall fair condition with some oxidation and patina throughout. Tip is slightly blunted and blade has some minor nicks. Brass basket has dull color with some wear. Wire bound grips are in overall fair condition with some minor cracking of leather. Scabbard has patina throughout with some minor pitting. See photos.
