Vibrant 1870's Wool Challis Log Cabin Quilt

Item Details

Description

Wool challis, silk, and cotton 1860's/1870's log cabin quilt, all hand pieced and hand quilted. It measures 72" X 82" and is in fair condition, with fabric deterioration in approximately 15 - 20% of the quilt, including three mouse chews that go all the way through the quilt. There is straight line quilting by hand throughout at 6 stitches to the inch. The back consists of 19th century cotton prints, the hand stitched binding is solid red, and there is no batting.
