**First Time At Auction**
East Asia, China, Neolithic Period, Majiayao culture, ca. 3300 to 2000 BCE. A charming pottery jar presenting a bulbous body with a wide hip, a sloped shoulder, an attenuated neck, and a flared rim, all sitting upon a flat, circular base. Hand-built from red pottery, the ancient vessel is beautifully painted with a gray lattice motif and maroon vertical striations along its shoulder. Size: 4.1" Diameter x 4.1" H (10.4 cm x 10.4 cm)
Provenance: private Redding, California, USA collection

Condition
Repair to neck and rim with restoration and one break line visible. Chip to rim. Expected nicks and abrasions throughout, commensurate with age. Otherwise, excellent with nice remaining pigments.
