Description

An engraved Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) sword retailed by Harding Uniform & Regalia Co. Boston, Mass. This sword features an engraved blade "Jesse O. Cook Camp 1, S.V.", acid etched decorated blade, gilded SUVCW emblem guard, leather/wire wrapped grip, polished steel scabbard, gilded drag, and gilded bands with carrying rings. Accompanied by a tintype of two civil war veterans in uniform. From a Larchmont, NY estate. Dimensions: sheathed sword measures approx. 37" in length. By consigner provenance the the soldier photographed within the tin type was the owner of this sword and is pictured holding this very sword.

Condition

This sword and tintype exhibit wear consistent with age.
