Description
Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran and Southeastern Turkey, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A forged-bronze spear tip of lengthy form with a forked tip on the tang that was used to better bind the blade to its pole. The elongated petaloid blade features a smooth midrib, sharpened edges, and a pointed tip that was suitable for stabbing or piercing. Fine layers of brown, green, and russet patina have developed across the surfaces. Size: 16.875" L x 1.5" W (42.9 cm x 3.8 cm)

Condition
Very slight bending to overall form of blade, with abrasions and small nicks, and light pitting, otherwise intact and very good. Great patina throughout.
