Europe, France, 19th century. Three large-scale engravings from Description de l'Egypte ou Recueil des observations et des recherches qui ont ete faites en Egypte pendant l'expedition de l'Egypte. Paris: C.L.F. Panckoucke, 1820-1830. These include (1) Artist: H.J. Redoute - Engraver: Pomel - "Thebes. Karnak. Bas-reliefs Sculptes Dans Le Couloir Environnant Les Appartemens De Granit Du Palais" (2) Artist: Chabrol et Jomard - Engraver: Phelippeaux - "Barques Symboliques Faisant Partie De La Decoration De La Salle Hypostyle Et Sujets Guerriers Sculptes Sur Les Murs Exterieurs Du Palais" (3) Artist: Jollois, St. Genis et Coraboeuf - Engraver: Schroeder et Blondeaux - "Plan Topographique De Ruines" - A wonderful trio of 19th century French large-scale engravings. Expected age wear with tears, losses, and stains primarily to the peripheries of pages. Normal toning to paper. Imagery is still strong.
