Description
The lot features a fantastic, fully beaded hide blanket strip from the Sioux Native American Indians of the Plains dating to the circa 1950-1970's. The piece is comprised of thick Great American Bison Buffalo Indian tanned hide covered in classic geometric beadwork of the Sioux done in glass trade seeds beads. The piece shows colors of white, brown, black, yellow and light blue. The piece shows four medallions integral to the design with thick Indian tanned hide tie fringes at the center, each of which showing a tin rolled dangle cone with Buffalo Bison tail hair. The blanket strip appears to be sinew sewn. The piece is well kept with little to no bead loss and supple soft hide. Measures overall 61.5"L x 3.5"W and each fringe is approx. 15"L.*
