4 pg. letter written on Dec. 11th 1864 from Eli Root and Stephen Root to their brother, Dwight, a private in the 14th Ohio Batery. There are two separate letters on one letter sheet. Highlights: talks about a list of soldiers in the newspaper who died at Andersonville. Mention of a minister who talked aout the sick and wounded soldiers in Sherman's Army. . Paper has yellowed butisin otherwise good condition. Some water stains on right vertical fold but one can read all the words. Ink is dark brown and hand writing is legible.
