Description
**First Time At Auction**
Native American, Western United States, Plains tribes, perhaps Crow or Cheyenne culture, ca. 1890s to 1920s CE. A superb pair of worn leather moccasins covered with extensive beadwork made up of tiny glass seed beads lane (lazy) stitched in Cheyenne pink and a rainbow of geometric motifs. The red triangular shape on the toe upper represent the cloven hooves of bison. The soles and interior shoe signs of wear and use, but the beading is intact and excellent - these were probably fancy wear for pow wows or other special events. Condition
Staining and discoloration to the leather from age and use. Wear to the sole with scuffs to toe tip. Beadwork is intact and excellent condition.
