American, 19th century, paper ephemera. Eight (8) Civil War items consisting of a cdv of Brigadier-General Meriweather Jeff Thompson (Swamp Fox) (1826-1876) of Southeast Missouri; a cdv of Brigadier-General Sterling Price and Governor of Missouri (1809-1867); a cdv of Confederate Brigadier-General John S. Bowen (1830-1863); State of Missouri Ten Dollars, Jan 1st, 1862; State of Missouri Five dollars, Jan 1st, 1862; State of Arkansas Ten Dollars, March 6th, 1862; an "Arms of Arkansas" envelope; and a "one brick for the Confederate Home of Missouri Ten Cents" card for the Higginsville, MO Confederate Veterans Home.
From the Collection of John F. Bradbury, Jr., longtime archivist and director of the State Historical Society of Missouri?s Rolla Research Center in Phelps County. John was a historian specializing in the Civil War period with a dedicated and distinguished career to studying and promoting the history of the Missouri Ozarks region.
