Description
Napoleon I - a letter, signed "NP", to Minister Comte de Cessac ordering troop transfers, dated February 7, 1813Kleiner Bogen Papier (Maße 22,7 x 18,2 cm), doppelt gefaltet und beidseitig in Tinte beschrieben, rückseitig datiert "Paris le 7 fevrier 1813" und mit eigenhändiger Signatur "NP" in Tinte. Napoleon verlegt verschiedene Bataillone der Équipage militaires zu den Corps d'observation de l'Elbe, du Rhin, d'Italie, zum "quartier général" und zum "corps d'avantgarde". Zudem solle sich eine Kompanie des 2. Bataillons "avec 40 voitures" nach Magdeburg aufmachen. Nach den verheerenden Verlusten im Russlandfeldzug ist Napoleon gezwungen, seine Armee neu aufzustellen. Er hebt mit Senatsbeschluss vom 10. Januar 1813 350.000 junge Männer aus, ruft seine besten Truppen aus Spanien heim und wandelt die Nationalgarde in Linientruppen um. Bis etwa Mitte 1813 gelingt es ihm, wieder auf eine "Grande Armée" von rund 750.000 Mann zurückgreifen zu können. Condition: II
