Hermann Köhl (1888 - 1938) - his binoculars with inscription for the 1928 Atlantic crossingZeiss-Fernglas 8 x 40, Delactis, Nr. 1325630, am schwarzen Leichtmetallgehäuse stirnseitig bei den Objektiven die Gravur "Hermann Köhl / Atlantic 12/13. IV '28.". Lederner Trageriemen. In passendem braunen Lederköcher (berieben) mit Prägestempel "Carl Zeiss Jena" und wie das Fernglas bezeichnet "Germany". Optik nahezu klar, leichte Gebrauchsspuren, schön erhalten. Am 12.4.1928 startete Hermann Köhl in der Junkers W 33 "Bremen" zur ersten Überquerung des Atlantiks von Ost nach West mit einem Motorflugzeug. Er wurde in New York wie ein Held gefeiert und kehrte nach Deutschland zurück. Ein Jahr zuvor gelang Charles Lindbergh als erstem ein Alleinflug in der Gegenrichtung von New York nach Paris.Flugpionier Hermann Köhl kannte Reinhold Poss. Wie dieser begann auch er als Militärpilot im Ersten Weltkrieg und wechselte 1925 zur Junkers Luftverkehr AG.Provenance: Aus dem Nachlass von Reinhold Poss.Condition: II +
