Description
The quadrilobed tray features a cartouche-shaped inscription in iron red, containing a poem and the cyclical date 'dingsi', which corresponds to the year 1797. Following the poem are the characters 'yuzhi', and two seals, 'Jia' and 'Qing'. The center of the tray, or the well, is adorned with a series of separate composite floral sprays, positioned beneath a larger, more prominent band of floral sprays that decorate the sides of the tray. 11.25 in. long, 8.7 in. wide.
