Inscription: At the lower part signed in the printing plate: "H. Wilkins del. / L. Caracciolo inc.". At the lower part inscribed in the printing plate: "Entrée de la Maison de Pansa".

Date: 1819

Description: This art-historically significant print shows the remains of the ancient architecture of the Pansa House in Pompeii, whose colossal columns and structures contrast impressively against a dramatic sky and mountain backdrop. The image is characterised by a mixture of decay and grandeur.
