Item Details
Description
This is a Midland Terminal Railway Armspear switch lantern. Another uber-rare lantern from the Cripple Creek, Colorado standard gauge connection with the Colorado Midland Railroad in Divide, CO. Welded tag clearly shows MT RY CO. Intact peephole glass and two original red and two green lenses with no cracks. Armspear manufacturer’s tag on the chimney shows patent dates of 1897, 1901, 1903, 1904, 1907, 1912, 1913, 1914, and 1919. Has its original chimney cone, which is often missing, as well as the correct, hard-to-find Armspear fount and a brass burner. Originally obtained by the consignor from the collection of a long time well-known Western/Colorado railroad enthusiast. Another fabulous piece for the serious Colorado collector!
