Description
For more than 20 years HMS Hood, built at Clydebank and launched in 1918, was the world's largest warship and the pride of the Royal Navy. But it was lightly armored and vulnerable to arcing fire from heavy shells. She was blown apart and sank in minutes when struck by a shell from the German battleship Bismarck in 1941. Only 3 of a crew of 1,418 survived. 7 1/2" x 19 3/4" image on 9 3/4" x 22" mount, unframed. Good condition.
