Description
John Gould (1804-1881) ornithological lithographic print of the Scissor-Tailed Hummingbird, from John Gould 's “A Monogram of the Trochilidae, or Family of Hummingbirds,” published in five volumes from 1861 to 1887. This lithograph is after the original and was produced in 1946 in New York City. The original bottom half has been cut off and taped to the backside. This piece is signed in the plate J. Gould & W. Hart del et lith. In the center states Hylonympha Macrocerca, Gould. At the bottom, it states Published & Copyright, 1946 by I.B. Fischer Co, New York City. , 23IN x 25IN (58cm x 64cm), LOT REF #24-457
