Description
A c.1973 Gibson Les Paul Signature semi-hollowbody electric guitar, serial #120924 in goldtop finish. Owned and played by Randy Bachman, who has sold 40 million records worldwide as a member of The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and as a solo artist.
Produced from 1973-1979, the Gibson Les Paul signature is one of the stranger beasts to have graced the Gibson catalog. The body shape is a blend of two classics, the ES-335 and the Les Paul, while the electronics package embraced Les Pauls love of low-impedance pickups, with master volume, master tone, Phase switching and a Level control to select the resistance value of the guitar to 50, 200, and 500 ohms. The guitar has two output jacks, one on top for an amplifier, the other on the side intended to be sent straight to the recording console.
Additional features include laminated maple back and sides, a 24 3/4” scale length maple neck with 22 frets on a bound, trapezoid-inlaid rosewood fingerboard, with six double-line Gibson Deluxe tuners and a “Les Paul Signature” silk screen on the headstock. There is a “2” stamped above the serial number on the back of the headstock, indicating a factory second that was flawed in some way, usually a finish issue. Said flaw escapes detection. Special Low-Z pickups, and a three way toggle selector switch.
Includes original black hardshell case with purple interior.
