A 1950s PerlGold archtop guitar, no serial number, sunburst finish. Owned and played by Randy Bachman, who has sold 40 million records worldwide as a member of The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and as a solo artist. One out of a large collection of mid-century archtop guitars collected by Bachman over a period of 30-plus years.

A laminated neck with decorative white-and-black headstock face, six white button tuners, white nut with zero fret, a bound 18-fret rosewood fretboard with block inlays. Carved spruce top, carved flame maple back and flame maple sides, finished in sunburst with thick multi-ply binding throughout. F-holes similar to Max Herber’s work, and he did build under the Perlgold brand. A metal pickguard with PerlGold logo, Rellog pickup, volume and tone controls mounted the lower treble-side bout just beneath the harp tailpiece and adjustable bridge. Decorative PerlGold label found inside the bass-side f-hole.
