Description
Fawn Navasie (Hopi reservation, b. 1959). Signed "Fawn" on base. A sizable pottery jar with an evenly sloping shoulder leading into a gently flared rim. The beige-ground vessel is decorated along the top of the shoulder with a pair of roadrunners - each with streamlined bodies, slender legs that suggest movement, and a forward-facing beak - along with a pair of abstract geometric forms bearing spiraling exterior tendrils, all in hues of black and red. The artist's first name "Fawn" is signed under the base along with a petite stamp of a deer hoof. Size: 11.78" Diameter x 4.75" H (29.9 cm x 12.1 cm)
