A PAIR OF SÈVRES STYLE BRONZE DORÉ MOUNTED BLUE PORCELAIN COVERED POTPOURRI URNS, LATE 19TH CENTURY, PROBABLY FRENCH, WITH SCENES AFTER JEAN ANTOINE WATTEAU (1684-1721), the pineapple and acanthus leaf finials over domed tapered lids with gilt painted leaves and flower bloom bouquets above pierced scrolling tendril gilt bronze mounted rims on large vases with vignettes painted with bucolic eighteenth century style scenes on themes of love, poetry and youthful fancy opposed by serene riverscapes within gilt painted frames, the fronts with gilt painted scrolling flower bloom borders, flanked by winged figural high relief caryatid handles, on bronze mounted tapered socles on relief laurel leaf wreath bases on "X" form square shaped plinths with foliate ormolu mounts centering cabochon shields within laurel and berry sprigs, each lid painted with a Sèvres style mark. There are some surface scratches and mild wear to the glaze, some gilt rubbing and mild scratches and losses to the paint decoration, and the back of one has a glaze imperfection, otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
